Admissions

Transient Students

Transient students must submit an application for admission. A transient letter or official transcript to document course prerequisites completed at other institutions prior to enrollment in selected courses is also required.

A student in good standing enrolled at another college may apply for admission to Jefferson State to take classes that will transfer to their home institution. An application and a Transient Letter are required prior to registration. The Transient Letter must list all courses that a student is eligible to take. This letter guarantees the transferability of courses taken at Jefferson State to the student's home institution. Applicants are required to complete a new application and submit a Transient Letter for each term attended.

Residency

Applicants who attended high school, college or received a GED outside the state of Alabama may be assessed out-of-state tuition. For additional information, please review the Application for Eligibility for In-State Residency.

Note: Transient students are not eligible for Financial Aid.
