Jefferson State offers a complete portfolio of
training and educational options where and when you
need them. The Center for Community and Corporate
Education is a focal part of the College's mission
of achieving excellence in education. Our services
are designed to meet the needs of the busy
professional of today.
On-Campus Classes For Individuals
There truly is something for everyone through the non-credit Community
Education Office. Anyone can register to take a non-credit class without
being admitted to JSCC. You can look to us to provide:
- Certificate Programs that lead to the skills needed to
obtain a job in a few weeks to a few months
- Continuing Education for professionals who require
training to maintain professional licenses such as nurses.
- Professional Skills Development such as computer
training, management training, leadership classes, Spanish,
etc.
- Personal Enrichment may lead to a new hobby, a second
language, or the accomplishment of some other personal goal.

On-Line Community Education
Learning has never been more convenient than it is by studying over the
Internet. Through our partnerships, Jefferson State offers both
instructor-facilitated and instructor-supported on-line classes. You may
complete any of these courses entirely from your home or office at any
time of the day or night.
Corporate Training Delivered At Your Work-Site
Jefferson State instructors will come to your work-site to deliver
world-class workshops, seminars and customized classes. Our account
executives and instructors will work with you to determine your
organization's specific needs. Classes are available during or after
business hours. We serve businesses of all sizes and types. If you need
to use our facilities, we will make plans for your training to be
delivered at one of our campuses.
Student Code of Conduct
Our primary mission at Jefferson State Community College is to support
our student's academic success. This involves many things including
appropriate student conduct while in the classroom.
Students are expected to respect:
One another's learning atmosphere as it relates to the curriculum and
individual safety the integrity of the assessment process (testing,
plagiarism) the instructor's position as the leader of the classroom the
instructor's curriculum, assessments, and other standards as documented in
the class syllabus Lastly, students have the right to raise concerns without
being questioned by other students.
Students should first approach their instructor with questions and
concerns. If the situation is not resolved, Administration is responsible to
answer student questions and concerns.
Complaint Process
If a situation is not satisfactorily settled by the instructor, the
following process will be followed:
The complaint should be presented to the Coordinator of Community
Education.
If unresolved, the Coordinator will present the situation to the
Director of the Center for Community and Corporate Education. The
Director will meet/talk with all involved parties and a plan of action
will be set in writing. If this plan is not satisfactory, students may
file a grievance according to the college's official
catalogue.
Jefferson State reserves the right to remove students and/or instructors
from the classroom on a temporary basis while an investigation takes
place if the Director deems this action is necessary for the well-being
and/or safety of others in the classroom. Jefferson State reserves the
right to remove students and/or instructors from the classroom
permanently. Student refunds/transfers are not issued for conduct
problems.
