What is T.E.A.C.H.?
The TEACH Early Childhood Project is a comprehensive scholarship program
linking education and compensation. The TEACH Early Childhood Project
scholarships participants to take college coursework leading to credentials,
certificates, and degrees.
Developed in North Carolina, Alabama is the 20th state to implement this
professional development program. National research shows that teacher
education and turnover rates affect children's development, and low wages
are often what causes teachers to leave the field of early care and
education. This is a project designed to address these areas - education and
wages. TEACH is a partnership of the Project, the teacher and the program
working together to improve quality through early childhood education and
collaboration.
