Criminal Justice & Law Enforcement

Mission Statement

The Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Program is a multi-faceted career and professional degree program that meets the educational needs of students considering a career in criminal justice as well as those of students employed in the field who are dedicated to continuing education.

Program Goals

Upon completion of the Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Program, graduates will:

  • Uphold the United States Constitution, the laws of their respective states and the local ordinances of their community
  • Uphold and maintain the oath, code of ethics and professional standards of their respective profession
  • Serve with integrity in public safety occupations including but not limited to police, probation, parole, corrections, law and academia
  • Serve in municipal, county, state and federal jurisdictions
  • Provide community services in conjunction with their occupation as well as a part of their civic responsibility
  • Participate in cooperative law enforcement efforts such as joint task forces between local, state and federal agencies
  • Apply theoretical and philosophical principles to daily practices
  • Communicate effectively with the community they serve
  • Participate in crime prevention and safety initiatives
  • Contribute to the education of the public at large in areas of law and justice
  • Work to improve the criminal justice system and Stay the course
