Criminal Justice & Law Enforcement
Mission Statement
The Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Program is a multi-faceted career
and professional degree program that meets the educational needs of
students considering a career in criminal justice as well as those of
students employed in the field who are dedicated to continuing
education.
Program Goals
Upon completion of the Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Program,
graduates will:
- Uphold the United States Constitution, the laws of their respective
states and the local ordinances of their community
- Uphold and maintain the oath, code of ethics and professional
standards of their respective profession
- Serve with integrity in public safety occupations including but not
limited to police, probation, parole, corrections, law and academia
- Serve in municipal, county, state and federal jurisdictions
- Provide community services in conjunction with their occupation as
well as a part of their civic responsibility
- Participate in cooperative law enforcement efforts such as joint
task forces between local, state and federal agencies
- Apply theoretical and philosophical principles to daily practices
- Communicate effectively with the community they serve
- Participate in crime prevention and safety initiatives
- Contribute to the education of the public at large in areas of law
and justice
- Work to improve the criminal justice system and Stay the course
