Certificate Program

The Office Technology Certificate Program tracks are designed to prepare students for entry-level employment. All course work in the certificate program will apply to the appropriate Associate in Applied Science Degree Program in Office Administration. Prior to taking courses, the student should meet with the advisor and develop a plan for satisfying program requirements. To be eligible for a certificate students must:

  • Complete the OAD Curriculum as outlined in the college handbook.
  • Make an appropriate score on WorkKeys.
  • Have a minimum 2.00 grade point average in Jefferson State courses.

Computer Facilities

The Business/Information Systems Department has state-of-the-art computer classroom labs/open labs on each campus. All lab computers are networked and have Internet access.

There are open labs available for student use located at the Jefferson & Shelby-Hoover Campuses.

  • Jefferson Campus - Ruby Carson Hall 120
    Monday through Thursday from 8 AM until 9:30 PM
    Friday from 8 AM until 4 PM
    Saturday from 10 AM until 2 PM
  • Shelby-Hoover Campus - General Studies Building 206
    Monday through Thursday from 8 AM until 9:30 PM
    Friday from 8 AM until 4 PM
  • Computers are also available in the Learning Resource Center at the Shelby-Hoover Campus and the Learning Success Center at the Jefferson Campus
  • Availability at the St. Clair and Pell City Centers varies by semester.
    The classroom instructional labs are also available for general use outside of class times.
