Licensure and Employment
Licensure
Students who successfully complete the program are eligible to sit for
licensure. The Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy develops and
administers the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE) for both
physical therapists and physical therapist assistants. The exam assesses the
basic entry-level competence for first time licensure or registration as a
PT or PTA within the 53 jurisdictions. Students may visit the website for

Employment

PTAs work in a variety of settings including acute care and
rehabilitation hospitals, outpatient facilities, school systems, nursing
homes, home health and sports medicine clinics. Salary depends on geographic
