Call Center Course Requirements & Program OptionsThe Call Center/Customer Service Program provides three opportunities to achieve varying levels of success. Each level builds on the previous level by providing additional skills and knowledge necessary to achieve success in the call center industry. Step Two - Business Management Certificate Step Three - Associate in Applied Science Business Management Degree: Call Center Option Stairway To Success Step 1 [back] Step 1 provides a basic knowledge and hands-on practice of the foundational skills needed in a customer service/call center environment. In Step 1, students are prepared for immediate employment in a customer service call center. Students in this level should focus on completing the following courses:
At the conclusion of Step 1, graduates will receive a
certificate of completion from Jefferson State Community College’s
Center for Professional, Career, and Technical Education. Students are also provided with
job placement opportunities. In addition, students can apply the 12
semester credit hours toward the next two success levels:
Stairway To Success Step 2 [back] After the student completes Step 1, they can then move to Step 2. Step 2 adds to the student’s customer service skills by expanding their knowledge in areas directly utilized in a customer service call center. These skills allow students to assume a broader range of responsibilities and provide more value to their customers and the company for which they are employed.
* For the Business Management Certificate, these course requirements may be satisfied by an appropriate score on the WorkKeys Skills Assessments. Students completing the courses in Steps 1 and 2 receive a Business Management Certificate: Call Center Option from Jefferson State Community College. The 26 semester credit hours can be applied toward a Business Management Degree. Stairway To Success Step 3 [back] The final step to success builds on the skills learned in Steps 1 & 2. The courses in step 3 prepare the student for team leader and supervisory positions in the call center environment. Students at this level should focus on completing the following courses:
*Students must take ENG 101 and MATH 100,117 or higher to receive an Associate Degree. Students completing this coursework will have achieved 62 semester credit hours and receive an Associate in Applied Sciences Degree in Business Management: Call Center Option.
