This choir is our premier group, and is selected by
audition. All members of the Singers also participate
with the Chorus. Members are selected by private audition
and are eligible for full-tuition scholarships. This
32-voice ensemble performs traditional repertoire,
including sacred, secular, and advanced literature
in community and campus events. Furthermore, smaller
groups are occasionally selected to participate in
additional performances. Open auditions will be held
during the first
week of April. However, additional audition appointments
are available throughout the year by appointment,
based on scholarship openings. To set-up an audition
appointment, or for more information,

Jessica Kaufhold.
Jefferson State Chamber Choir
This is a 15-voice
SATB ensemble, formed in Fall 2005, that performs
music from the Renaissance Period. This ensemble
also performs at special events, such as caroling at
the Country Club of Birmingham, and concerts at area
schools. The group, which is open to all
Jefferson State Choir participants, is selected by
audition, and rehearses outside of regular choir time.
Yesterday
This male ensemble is selected from members of the
chorus and performs largely popular
selections, such as pieces by Billy Joel and Boyz-to-Men.
The idea for this group was presented in fall 2004 by
choir member Eric Tindol, who wanted to put together a
group of men to sing the song Yesterday as
performed by Boyz-to-Men. However, the group did
not officially form until fall 2005. The group
is named Yesterday in memory of Eric, who
passed away in August 2005.
