What is the Student Orientation for Distance Education?

Answer:
To gain a better understanding of the online learning environment taught by Jefferson State faculty, a Student Orientation to WebCT Courses is now available.

The purpose of the Student Orientation to WebCT is to allow you to experience the general interface and tools of Jeff State's online courses. 

The orientation is set up like a course in WebCT and has the following purposes:

  1. to provide an overview of online classes;
  2. to allow you to experience how to maneuver within the online environment and how to use the tools;
  3. to enable you to gain a better understanding of the online environment at Jefferson State.

The Student Orientation is intended for the following:

The Student Orientation course will provide you with an overview of the online course tools, such as how to submit assignments, dialog with your instructor through email, participate in online discussions with class participants,  take quizzes or tests, and  view grades.

How do I access the Student Orientation for Distant Education?

Answer:

  • To access the Student Orientation WebCT Course:
  • You must be an enrolled Jefferson State student.
  • You must know your WebCT ID and social security number.

To search for your WebCT ID, go to the Jefferson State WebCT login page online at: http://virtual.jeffstateonline.com
