Appeals Process

If you feel a college policy has been applied unfairly to your situation, you have the right to submit a written complaint or appeal. First, you must meet with the appropriate supervisor to attempt to work out a resolution. If a resolution cannot be achieved, submit the completed complaint/appeal form with documentation (police report, hospital records, doctor excuse, obituary, etc.) to support your extenuating circumstances to the supervisor responsible for the policy. Supervisors are listed below. The Complaint/Appeal form will be submitted to the College Policies Complaint/Appeals Committee for review. Students who appeal a college policy must do so within 12 months. For academic issues such as grade changes and problems with courses or instructors, you must contact the appropriate faculty member or academic
dean.

Students who are approved on appeal must earn grades of "C" or better in each class, with no withdrawals (grades of W, WP, WF, I and IP calculate as hours attempted in Financial Aid SAP Policy). Appeals are continued on a semester by semester basis until the student is current with SAP.

Students who fail to complete the terms of the appeal will be expected to meet the SAP requirements using their own means before they will be considered eligible to received financial aid.
