How do I get my financial aid check?

Financial aid checks are issued each term starting the third day of class when the student has submitted their class attendance verification (CAV) form with all instructors’ signatures.  Check are not available for pick-up and will be mailed out daily for the first two weeks of classes, twice a week for the next three weeks then once a week as needed after the fifth week of classes.  Class Attendance verification forms are emailed to student who has been award the day before classes start each term.  Once classes have started the CAV is emailed as awards are placed on a student’s account for the first four weeks of classes.

Print the CAV out as soon as you receive it. Take the CAV to each of your classes and have each instructor sign the form verifying that you are attending class.

If you are enrolled in an internet class, e-mail the instructors requesting verification of your attendance. When the instructor e-mails you back, print and attach the e-mail to the CAV. The e-mail needs to include your name, student ID#, and the class name with the correct course registration number (CRN). Please note that all e-mails must be dated on or after the first day of class for each term and with-in three weeks of the check disbursement date. Most of the instructors have a verification of attendance form on their Blackboard file that can be completed and print for their signature.

Once you have all signatures and or e-mails from instructors, return the CAV to the financial aid office closest to you. If you change your classes during the schedule adjustment period you will have to receive a new CAV with the correct classes and signatures to have a check processed for you.
