How long does it take to find out what I am eligible for after I submit the FAFSA?

Typically, it takes a minimum of 3 weeks to receive electronic transmission of a submitted FAFSA from the Federal Government. Once Jefferson State Community College has received the electronic file an initial letter will be mailed to the student with instructions on how to review and complete any documents needed to complete the student’s financial aid package.

Once the student has completed and submitted the necessary documents it may take an additional 3-6 weeks for processing.
