PRIMARY PURPOSE: |
This position will ensure the
safety of the facility patrons by preventing and responding to
emergencies and maintaining cleanliness of the pool and
facility. |
|
|
|
|
JOB FUNCTIONS: |
Part-time hourly employees may
work up to 19 hours per week. Accordingly, personnel are not
entitled to benefits, which excludes all types of paid leave,
retirement credit, insurance and any other benefits normally
received by full-time employees.
In addition to adhering to the
policies and guidelines of the College and the State Department
of Postsecondary Education, this individual will:

Enforce all facility
policies, rules and regulations.

Recognize and respond
effectively to emergencies.
-
Inspect the facility on a
daily basis and report unsafe conditions and equipment to
swimming pool coordinator.
-
Complete records and
reports.
-
Participate in in-service
training.
-
Complete additional duties
as assigned by swimming pool coordinator.
-
Perform duties assigned by
swimming pool coordinator.
-
Assist preparing facility
and equipment for special events and activities.

QUALIFICATIONS: |
|
|
|
-
Must be at least 15 years
of age required.
-
American Red Cross
Lifeguard Training, American Red Cross Community First Aid &
Safety, and American Red Cross CPR for the Professional
Rescuer required.
-
Thorough knowledge and
application of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue
techniques.
-
An understanding of
facility policies, procedures, and rules.
-
Leadership qualities and
public relations skills.

SALARY: |
Salary is based on 19 hours per
week. Hourly rate is $8.55. |
