St. Vincent Partnership

In the Spring of 2006 Jefferson State Community College launched a night and weekend track of the nurse education program in partnership with St Vincent's Hospital. The program received approval by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission, the Alabama Board of Nursing and the Alabama Department of Postsecondary Education. Nursing courses are web-supported and include traditional in-class instruction. Courses are taught on the Shelby-Hoover Campus.

Admission to the nursing program is highly competitive. Admission is based on a point system that includes scores on the ATI TEAS V test, general education courses completed and the grades earned in those courses.

All students will be enrolled at Jefferson State and upon graduation will receive the Associate Degree in Nursing from Jefferson State.

The curriculum for the Night/Weekend Associate Degree Nursing Program is the same as the RN Associate Degree Nurse Curriculum. For a listing of courses to be taken each term, click here.
