Highway
Traffic Safety Program
Mission Statement
The Greater Birmingham Highway Traffic Safety program serves the largest
population base in Alabama including Jefferson, Blount, St. Clair,
Chilton, Shelby and Walker Counties. It is one of nine regional traffic
safety programs funded through the
Alabama Department of Economic and
Community Affairs. The Highway traffic Safety Program works to develop and
implement traffic safety enforcement and education strategies to reduce
motor vehicle crashes, injuries and fatalities in the region. By working
with enforcement agencies and the general public to ensure safer roadways,
we increase the quality of life for the citizens of our jurisdiction and
the state of Alabama as a whole.
