Veterinary Technology
Application Requirements
If you wish to apply for
admission into the Jefferson State Community College Veterinary
Technology Program, you should proceed with the following steps:
Contact the Office of Enrollment
Services to request a college catalog and Jefferson State admission
application, and submit for consideration (indicating Veterinary
Technology as your major code C212). Please contact Enrollment
Services for guidelines on submitting official transcripts.
Applicants must meet the minimum general admission requirements for
Jefferson State before being considered for acceptance into the
Veterinary Technology Program.
Submit
VT Application for Eligibility & copy of transcripts to Veterinary
Technology Department by the deadline for the semester in which you
are applying.
Deadlines:

Fall, 2007 deadline is June 8, 2007

Spring, 2008 deadline is October 1,
2007

Fall, 2008 deadline is June 2, 2008
-
Spring, 2009 deadline is October 6,
2008
-
Submit to VT Department:
-
2 letters of recommendation -
1 from a Veterinarian 1 from an educator
(High School or College)
-
Call to set up an advising
session with Vet Tech faculty 205-856-8519, 205-856-8551, or
205-856-8003.
-
Submit in writing a report of
any felony convictions
Note:
If changes occur in your information
after submitting your application to the VT Dept., contact the VT
Dept., so that we may update your file.
After applying to the Veterinary
Technology Program, you must contact the VT Department every 6
months to update your application and make known any changes that
could affect your eligibility status (work hours, college
coursework, etc.) Failure to do so may result in your application
being declared "Inactive", which could prevent you from being
considered for acceptance.
